Rain can be a great source of relief for animals in dry weather, but heavy rain can also pose a risk for various species.

When it rains, birds will make changes to their behavior in order to cope with the wet weather. Some birds will seek shelter under the leaves of trees or in bushes, while others will simply sit still and wait until the rain stops.

Birds will also often fluff out their feathers to help keep themselves dry, or they may tuck their bills into their feathers to keep them warm.

Some birds, like ducks, are even able to swim and dive in the rain, which helps them find food that might be washed off of plants or flushed out of the ground.
Despite the challenges that come with rainy weather, most birds are surprisingly adaptable and are able to find ways to survive and thrive even in difficult conditions.
